Hunting Island Beach State Park is the #1 State Park in South Carolina and has been voted the #2 Best East Coast Beaches by USA Today. As a guest of The Beaufort Inn, you can receive a complimentary beach pass to Hunting Island upon request. For just $2/person, you can climb the 167 steps to the top of the only publicly accessible lighthouse in South Carolina (although due to COVID-19, the lighthouse may not be operational during your stay). Fun fact, parts of Hunting Island were used to film the Vietnam Scene in Forrest Gump.

The Beaufort Water Festival has officially announced it will take place July 16-25, 2021!
Similar to New York City’s High Line, the Spanish Moss Trail is an outdoor rail trail connecting several parts of our beautiful city. Currently, the Spanish Moss Trail is nearly 10 miles long with plans to expand to 14. Walkers, runners, cyclycts, and roller bladers alike traverse the trail and take in gorgeous views of Beaufort. Guests of The Beaufort Inn have access to complimentary bicycles upon request.
